📣 Call for Participation:
The 4th Vietnam School of Biology (VSOB4)
“Metagenome Analysis in One Health Practice – From 16S to Shotgun”

We are pleased to invite students, early-career researchers, and faculty from Vietnam and Southeast Asia to participate in the 4th Vietnam School of Biology (VSOB4), to be held at the scenic International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE) in Quy Nhon, Vietnam.
This year’s theme focuses on Metagenomic Analysis in the One Health Framework, covering practical and theoretical training from 16S rRNA amplicon analysis to shotgun metagenomics and data visualization with R.
🔬 Program Highlights
- A 5-day in-person training featuring hands-on sessions and expert lectures
- Three thematic short courses:
- Course 1: 16S rRNA Amplicon Analysis
- Course 2: Shotgun Metagenomics Analysis
- Course 3: Data Visualization with R
- Keynote lectures from internationally recognized scientists
- Interaction with experts from Vietnam, the UK, India, and Singapore
- Networking opportunities with peers from across the region
👥 Target Audience
- Undergraduate and graduate students in biology, biotechnology, or related fields
- Early-career scientists and researchers in academia and industry
- Faculty and educators interested in integrating metagenomics into teaching and research

- The school will be conducted in English, in a fully face-to-face format.
